Business Development Manager (Asia), Health & Performance Nutrition - Aarhus

Are you ready to use your commercial mindset and specialist nutrition knowledge to boost international sales? Arla Foods Ingredients (AFI) is an independent company within the Arla Foods Group, with an ambition to become the true global leader of the value-added whey business.

You will be part of the Strategic Business Unit Health & Performance Nutrition based in AFI headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark. We develop, document, market, and sell specialized ingredients for the global medical, health and sports nutrition industry.

Develop sales through communication of scientific documentation and functionality of our ingredients in Asia
Together with the regional sales managers you maintain and develop our ingredients business through strong relationships, market knowledge, nutritional insights and product portfolio overview. Your main responsibilities externally will be to present ingredients and the linked scientific evidence, support customers with technical knowledge about ingredient functionality, and drive customer projects. In addition, you will be responsible internally for providing input for market-oriented project and ingredient development. As an intermediate link between our sales force, R&D and supply chain and with your insights into the health, sport and medical nutrition industry you will be valuable partner in ingredient development projects and marketing projects by providing market intelligence and analysis. Furthermore, you will be responsible for gathering market information and developing sales material as well as supporting the development of market segment and product strategies by development and execution of plans for the market.

Natural Sciences degree, project management skills and sales and marketing experience
You hold a master’s degree in Human Nutrition, Biomedicine, Molecular Biology or the like and have previously worked with sales, marketing or business development in the food or pharmaceutical industry. Preferably, you also have experience with project management. You are proficient in verbal and written English and possess excellent presentation skills. If you have Chinese language capabilities, it will be considered an additional benefit.

Even though your platform is scientific, you have a natural flair for business, and you are self-propelled, possess a high drive as well as extraordinarily good communication and interpersonal skills. You enjoy working with colleagues at all levels in the organization and from various cultural backgrounds. In addition, you have the ability and willingness to grasp complicated scientific information and translate the essence into a market relevant concepts. With your natural curiosity, you are eager to learn and share your knowledge. Finally, you must be capable of handling and solving many tasks simultaneously, working in a dynamic environment. You can look forward to gaining an extensive contact base and should expect approximately 50-70 travel days yearly.
