Agricultural Manager - South Region

We are currently looking to recruit an Agricultural Manager to cover the South region to incorporate part of South Wales/Somerset and the Dorset, Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and Kent areas. This is a home based regional opportunity. Within this role you work with both Arla's co-operative members here in the UK, and aligned direct suppliers, to achieve consistently high standards of milk quality and supply in order to effectively facilitate the governance processes within the United Kingdom Arla Farmers (UKAF) co-operative.


Responsibilities
Within this role you will act as the key support link between the owner members, retailer aligned direct supplying producers and Arla Foods UK. Recognised within your own area as the key contact to support the delivery of dairy farming best practice, you will demonstrate Red Tractor Assurance - Dairy Scheme (RTA - DS) along with driving the Arlagården quality assurance standards. Supporting all farmers within your area of responsibility, you will proactively follow up on any areas of concern regarding standards, quality and related antibiotic investigations. This role will also provide specific support to retailer aligned producers to meet customer requirements. The successful candidate will also be required to help deliver key business projects as and when required.


Assisting with sustainability meetings and farmer engagement, you will attend local meetings in order to fully understand both strategy and operational execution, driving the recruitment of additional farmers in your own area when required. You will look to prevent and follow up on farmer resignations, responding to any farmer queries within an appropriate timescale. Demonstrating a deep understanding of governance, both local and global, you will communicate to local elected representatives and then back to the business on all relevant local issues such as transport, flooding, resignation and risk etc. Taking ownership of farm contact with all members in your own area, verbally communicating and meeting on a regular basis.


Skills
To be successful in this role you will be degree educated or have the equivalent level of experience working in Agriculture. You will be able to demonstrate technical and commercial skills acquired across a wide range of demanding roles within the agricultural industry whilst managing key relationships across multiple stakeholders. An excellent communicator, you will demonstrate self-motivation and discipline with the ability to work flexibly regarding both location and hours of work. Within this role you will be required to provide a full out of hours service on a rota basis.
