Social Media Officer
Maria’s job role in 3 words: Variety. Development. Challenge.
Maria was born and raised in Sweden and she works at the Stockholm office as a social media officer responsible for the Arla brand. Holding a strategic communication degree from Lund University and with two years of marketing experience, Maria has become a valuable asset to Sweden’s local digital team, which she joined at the beginning of 2016.
Being part of Arla's digital journey
She drives the digital agenda and manages all the social media channels for the Arla brand: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube. Maria is not only the strategic brain behind Arla’s social media performance, she also creates content and manages the online community.
On a daily basis, Maria communicates the distinctive features and healthy attributes of Arla’s products, which ultimately drives sales for the Arla brand. “Even though I’m commercially driven in the way I think and work, I always have our company’s higher purpose in mind: to return the highest possible profit back to our farmer owners. This gives me a great sense of satisfaction.”
Experimenting and staying curious
Maria particularly appreciates the balance between tradition and modernity within Arla and that she can draw on existing expertise while also experimenting with new ideas without the fear of failure. She has grown with the challenges that have come her way, is not afraid to ask her colleagues in the digital team for support and she says curiosity is key. To broaden her digital knowledge and enable her to stay on top of the game, Arla supports Maria’s external training through the Dentsu Aegis Digital Academy.
