Lactofree® Long-life Whole
Read about having lactose intolerance and how Lactofree® lactose free milk is made
An allergy to cows milk is often confused with lactose intolerance and it’s important to distinguish between the two. Cows milk allergy, which is likely to occur from birth, is a reaction to one or more proteins found in milk triggered by the immune system that in some cases can cause a serious reactions known as anaphylaxis (the whole body is affected, often within minutes of exposure to the allergen).
Does not involve the immune system, so while it can cause a great deal of discomfort, it won’t produce a dangerous reaction.
Lactofree® starts as regular whole cows milk. We gently filter out half of lactose and then add the lactase enzyme that breaks down the remaining lactose into simpler form that your body can absorb. As nothing else is added or removed, what you get is the nutritional benefits and great taste of regular whole milk - without the lactose*. If you suffers from lactose intolerance you can still enjoy our lactose intolerance products.
