Consumption of feta cheese in Norway has risen by almost 40 per cent since last year.

One explanation is the launch of Arla Foods’ feta in herb marinade with olives.

Apetina fetas in oil with green or black olives in the characteristic half-moon shaped packaging was launched in March and is now the third best selling feta in Norway.

A survey from the market research institute AIM/AC Nielsen reveals the products to be most popular among new products in the speciality cheese market.

Arla Foods launched the first feta in Norway in 1983. Today, Arla Foods accounts for 90% of the market.
"Norwegian consumers are still demanding new types of cheese so we will continue to drive the market,” says Lars Poulsen, Director of the subsidiary.

Apetina feta with olives is made at Bov Dairy.
