When the Swedish Borgholm dairy closes on May 30, 2004, 75% of the production machinery will be dismantled and dispatched to Chile over the summer.

The new owners are Aproleche, a farmers’ association which has run into difficulties following the Parmalat crisis. The Arla equipment will assist the Chilean farmers in selling their milk, primarily for cheese production.

When Borgholm dairy closes down much of its cheese and powder production will be transferred to Kalmar dairy while Gouda production will be centred at Falkenberg dairy.
