Brabrand Dairy received a prize from the consultancy company, Anpro, for being the work place which, in 2001/02, has seen most improvement from Anpro’s efficiency systems. In just seven months, Brabrand Dairy has seen a growth in production from 410 units to 520 units per hour.
Following a comprehensive analysis of operational processes at Denmark’s largest yoghurt dairy, the dairy has increased productivity by 26%.
From an average of 410 units – tubs, bottles, cartons or buckets of fermented milk products – per hour, Brabrand Dairy now produces 520 units per hour. The improvement took place between February and August and the savings amount to DKK 18-20 million per year.
The impressive result is owing to closer co-operation with Arla Foods’ marketing departments, assistance from the consultancy company Anpro, clearly defined objectives and visions and, not least, a huge commitment from management and staff.
”I’m impressed about how focused the staff have been on the objectives and that they’ve been able to achieve such an improvement in productivity,” says Dairy Manager Sjur Fitje.
