The food magazine, Food Manufacture Magazine, has named Arla Foods UK "Food Manufacture Company of the Year" in its annual review of the UK's best food companies.

For its awards, the magazine assesses a range of factors such as category management, marketing, new product development, quality assurance, the environment, the working environment, innovation and human resource development.

Not only crowned the best manufacturer in the dairy category, Arla went onto take the coveted Food Manufacture Company of the Year award.

The judging panel were impressed with Arla Foods UK's achievements in developing innovative new products such as the lactose-free cow’s milk, Lactofree, which is being very positively received by consumers.

Environmental-friendly packaging
Judges also cited Arla Foods UK's people development scheme and the company's environmental-friendly packaging reduction initiative.

"This is a significant achievement and a reflection of our commitment to delivering the highest standards at every stage of our operation, " said Martin Gilbert, business group director for operations and distribution. "These awards are highly regarded in the industry and our success is thanks to the hard work and commitment of everyone in the company."
