The UN has approved Arla Foods as a member of its Global Compact network. Together with thousands of other companies and organisations, Arla will help to solve the world’s major social, environmental and labour challenges.

Companies and organisations that are part of Global Compact must have established their own ethical guidelines for e.g. human rights, child labour and sustainable development.

Arla Foods’ ethical programme, "Our Responsibility" – or, rather, the employees’ contribution to environmental-friendly production and the prevention of harassment at the workplace - has resulted in Arla Foods being approved by the UN as a member of Global Compact.

"With Arla Foods’ social and environmental concerns, it is only natural for the company to be part of Global Compact, and all Arla Foods’ employees can be proud of that," says Ulla Nilsson, responsible for quality, environment and working environment throughout the group.

"Through its participation, Arla Foods is conveying to the outside world that we are socially aware – and that ethics and responsibility can go hand in hand with efficiency and profitability in a modern business." 
 
Global Compact
More than 3,000 companies and 1,000 organisations across the world are part of Global Compact, which was founded by the UN in 2000.
Through dialogue and information, members seek to bring about improvements in areas such as human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption.
