Mønsted Limestone Caves, where Arla Foods stores the renowned Grube Cheese (Cave Cheese) from Vellev Dairy, this week played host to a group of ambassadors and consuls and their wives representing their countries in Denmark. The 96 guests were first given a guided tour of the caves which, with 60 km of mine shafts is the largest limestone cave complex in the world. They then had an opportunity to enjoy a cheese and wine tasting. Subsequently the cave’s former owner, the respected violinist Anker Buch, gave a performance in the caves which were illuminated by 500 large candles.
The event was part of the Danish Foreign Ministry's annual tour of Denmark for foreign diplomats.
