Warehouse Operatives, Settle

At Arla, we do so much more than make some of the world’s favourite dairy products. We make healthy taste delicious, mornings worth getting up for and family dinners unforgettable. Cravendale®, Anchor®, Lurpak® and Tickler® – names like these make us a vital, natural part of modern life in over 100 countries around the world. We are 4,000 UK and 19,000 global employees at the heart of it. Every single one of us plays an important role and together we build on our 10bn Euros turnover and establish our position as one of the largest dairy companies in the world.

We currently have a vacancy at our Settle Creamery for a Warehouse Operative, working to a 48 hour week shift pattern including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays. Settle is Arla’s only UHT production facility in the picturesque North Yorkshire Dales.

Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be operating high speed palletisation equipment with responsibility for maximising output efficiencies in line with strict quality, hygiene and safety standards. You will work closely with the Production and Warehouse teams and on your own to ensure departmental and customer service levels are achieved. You will need strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to relate to Arla values, leading by example demonstrating a “can do” attitude.

Successful candidates must have experience of working in a manufacturing and/or warehousing environment and capable of carrying out numerous tasks. You must be computer literate with knowledge of using WMS (SAP) controlled by RF Scanning. Experience in robotic palletising would be advantageous but full training will be provided.

You must hold a current valid FLT licence (both Counterbalance or Reach) as the majority of work will be cross docking products from the end of the line onto vehicles. LGV1 licence would also be advantageous but not essential.

With a keen eye for detail you will be self motivated and a strong team player with a drive to achieve targets. The ability to work on fast moving machinery is essential and a mechanical aptitude would be advantageous.

In return you can expect a competitive basic salary and the opportunity to work for a progressive and forward thinking company that recognises talent and promotes from within. Progression through the department is achievable once all necessary criteria has been met. Many of our Team Leaders and Managers started as Operatives, so this is a great opportunity to work for a progressive and forward thinking company that recognises talent and promotes from within.
