Come and work with us

Transport Team Leader, Stourton

At Arla, we do so much more than make some of the world's favourite dairy products. We make healthy taste delicious, mornings worth getting up for and family dinners unforgettable. Cravendale®, Anchor®, Lurpak® and Tickler®, names like these make us a vital, natural part of modern life in over 100 countries around the world. We are 4,000 UK and 19,000 global employees at the heart of it. Every single one of us plays an important role and together we build on our 10bn Euros turnover and establish our position as one of the largest dairy companies in the world.

We have a vacancy for a Transport Team Leader / Shift Manager to join the team at our Stourton site, leading a shift in the day to day operation of the collection of raw milk from our producers who, as a co-operative business, are also our owners. You will lead a team of drivers operating tanker and combination vehicles. Reporting into the Transport Manager, you will ensure that daily activity aligns with the business plan along with legal compliance and health & safety.

Closely liaising with Head Office, you will plan and organise the shift to ensure efficient and effective management of the milk collection operation, as the first point of contact for Farmers and resolving issues as they arise. You will participate in route planning, using systems such as Isotrak, Ortec and SAP.

As a people manager, you will motivate your team to succeed but also be responsible for day to day training, development, performance management, absence management, discipline and grievances. In a time when managing costs is a key focus for the business, you will ensure maximum combination vehicle utilisation.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record as a Transport Team Leader or Manager with a National CPC qualification.

You will be a proactive leader with the ability to deliver accurate results under tight and pressured time constraints. Without the ongoing delivery of raw milk to our dairies we cannot produce high quality dairy products for our customers, so this role is essential in achieving our business goals.

This is a Monday-Friday role working a rotating shift pattern. Further details can be provided on request.

Please apply no later than September 30th via this link.
